About

I’m a public radio journalist and audio storyteller based out of Alaska.

Sounds and storytelling play an important role in my life. As a child, I learned to play a small menagerie of instruments. Over the years, I turned my love for music toward podcasts. Listening to podcasts like “99pi,” “Class of 2025” and “Serial” became a morning ritual with my family. In high school, I taught myself to create educational podcasts for school projects with a cheap microphone and YouTube tutorials.

This love of podcasts took me out from my home state of Oregon to places I only dared to dream of visiting. It opened doors for me while studying abroad in Taiwan, and landed me in Homer, a coastal town at “the end of the road’ in Alaska.

Working with audio is the most powerful way to tell stories. The magic that comes from bringing the voices of people directly into storytelling brings them joy nothing else has. No matter what form it takes, I want to continue telling stories for the rest of my life.

When I’m not behind a computer or recording in the field, I love playing in pit orchestras for the latest community musical production and attempting to ski around Homer.
